Pros
We always thought of payroll as something boring and annoying. Now it’s just a few clicks every month and that’s it.
Cons
Not much, every time we have a small issue Pento support is there and addresses it very fast.

It's crazy how much time Pento has saved us in processing and reviewing payroll. We love being able to keep our payroll in house for 250+ employees without having to have a dedicated payroll clerk. We can have payroll processed and reviewed in less than a day of one of our teams time!
Pros
- Slick interface;
- Smooth implementation and transition from Xero Payroll;
- Best in class support for both product issues and technical payroll queries (quick response and resolution);
- Easy to use (month to month payroll adjustments have never been so easy to amend);
- Automated recurring adjustments for most common adjustments and functionality to create custom;
- Integrates with Xero and automatically generates the monthly payroll journal; and
- Pension & HMRC integrations (massively reducing admin time).
Cons
We've sometimes had issues with bulk uploading adjustments, which meant having to manually adjust payroll balances for all employees for items such as annual wellness bonuses but this is a rarity and only a minor point.

Pros
Pento integrates with bamboo hr which makes things a lot easier. It is also fairly self explanatory what is where. It is good that employees get email payslips
Cons
Sometimes the pensions integration is dodgy or there are bugs that we spot in auditing and have to ask pento to fix

Super easy to use payroll software

Pros
Very easy to keep payroll inhouse rather than paying externally for someone to run it. The Help Centre is very comprehensive but the best thing is definitely how quickly the support team come back with information. Very intuitive set up with user friendly dashboards and ways to add one off monthly changes to payroll. Great links to accounting software (have used it with both Xero and Netsuite) and easy to link to BambooHR. This is the software in my accounting tech stack that I can rely on the most.
Cons
Very little is a con. Perhaps to be nitpicky it would be any custom additions or deductions sometimes not having the full text come through as the header column in reports. This is incredibly minor and only adding as this is a compulsory field!

Very positive, they are definitely the market leader.

Pros
Pento is intuitive, easy to use, integrates with most HRIS systems and makes payroll much much easier. As soon as you are c. 30 employees I would recommend moving to Pento.
Cons
It is not as cheap as a solution like Xero - but once you are past a scale of 20 - 30 people, that kinda payroll solution will quickly become a time sync. Compared to other solutions are a larger scale, Pento is price competitive.

You cannot process a secondary payroll for an individual as a special run once the payroll has been committed and paid.

Pento, a state of the art solution

Pros
We have implemented Pento in our company 6 months ago and since we absolutely love it. It is super easy to use, has a friendly interface and has a great customer support team.
We also use HiBob as our HR system and Pento is integrated with HiBob, that creates a lot of automatization translated in cost savings/reduced processing time and elimination of errors.
Pento has a great reporting tool to check monthly payrolls, is integrated with HMRC for tax updates, etc.
Great software, great team !
Cons
We had some challenges around setting up correctly the People Partnership pension integration but eventually was solved

Compared to the other platforms out there, Pento is so simple and easy to use. Whilst also not missing any important details. It is so easy to update any changes and very user friendly.

Pros
It's generally really easy to use. The features have improved a lot in the couple of years we've been using it. The customer service is exceptional in my experience, they always respond quickly and help me understand things clearly.
Cons
Some things are not so clear. E.g. not so easy to see when an employee is due to be auto enrolled in pension. I now know how to see this but It was missed for the first few months which caused extra work.
However, the customer service makes up for any confusion as they will quickly respond with the right way to do things.

I love how we have managed to streamline our payroll process to make this more efficient by reducing the need for manual entry. Our errors are now at a minumum thanks to Pento

So impressed with Pento. It is literally saving us days of painstaking work to run payroll each month. Would recommend it to every growing company.
Pros
So easy to use and run payroll. The best bit is that's it, all done. Our finance team can now easily manage the whole payroll process and it has actually become an enjoyable one. Before we were dealing with and always waiting for our external payroll company. Now we can simply do it all ourselves - Pento connects to HMRC, sends payments to employees and payslips. Also, support is always fast and awesome.
Cons
I can't think of anything bad to be honest. It really has revolutionized the way we run payroll for our company.

Pros
Pento has a great user interface and it makes payroll very easy to process each month. a lot of the payroll tasks which usually used to be manual are automated and also reassures that you are doing the same method of calculation each month e.g calculating gross pay for joiners and leavers mid-month, nil pay for employees etc...
Cons
Not being able to see future payrolls and essentially being able to plan ahead. A few other bits that you need to contact the CS team for e.g. adding new approval users. The price is also quite expensive to the other traditional payroll softwares out there but can see it's use case for those that do not have any payroll background. Also, I usually request sales & CS bonuses from the leads every month and would be nice to have them update the figure directly themselves rather than it go through me to avoid errors and save time.

Pento is a great payroll product. Once it's up and running, it will save you a lot of time and headache. Definitely worth making the switch.
Pros
Once everything was up and running, I probably spend less than two minutes per month running payroll. UI is pretty intuitive and easy to navigate. When you have experience with other products, running payroll with one click feels like magic.
Cons
The setup took some time, as we needed to set up all employees and link the bank account. Be sure not to change in the last days of the month.

Really impressed by what Pento has done for us on the payroll side. Something that used to be a real hassle is now just a few clicks. Highly recommended.
Pros
Payroll used to be a real hassle for us. We would outsource it but it still took a lot of time and effort wrangling with spreadsheets and emails. Now we use it Pento for our Danish employees - and the whole payroll process takes literally 5 minutes once a month. We also plan to use Pento in UK once we hire the first employees there.
Cons
There are a few small features missing on the reporting side, but Pento is telling us they are working on more comprehensive export functionality.

I've been using several of the competitors during the last couple of years and actually thought it was working OK. But when I first was introduced to Pento, I was very surprised! I never thought payroll software could be this quick, easy to use and understandable. I'm literally capable of running everything related to wages/salary in minutes.
Pros
Directly integrates with taxes, automatic bank payments, and also payslips get sent to our employees automatically. At this point I’m not even sure what else they could add to make it even better. Also, anytime we needed anything their support was very fast.
Cons
Nothing in particular. So far has everything been working flawless for me and my employees

Just take it and forget about payroll. Payroll should be easy and everything else we used before just wasn't. Then we started using Pento and it suddently makes sense - payroll can be simple!
Pros
Never actually had any problems. Money gets paid when it needs to be, everything is reported to tax authorities and employees receive nice payslips.
Cons
Nothing really. Sometimes I would like a bit more control over who can approve the payroll. But Pento has assured me that they are working on deeper approval flows.

I like spending time on things that develop and grow our business - and not on things that are just a chore. Payroll is a chore and Pento finally solves it in a way that makes sense.
Pros
The Pento app works perfectly. It saves you a lot of time and it makes us running payroll a breeze. We used to spend days coordinating payroll changes, but now it’s all done within a few minutes.
Cons
The export functions could be a bit more advanced. Pento assured me they are working on it.

Traditional payroll process was dragging down our admin in UK for quite long time. We were really happy to find Pento - now our payroll process is much simplified and takes about 5 minutes each month.
Pros
Super simple, all cumbersome processes like pension enrollment, bank transactions etc are automated. Also really happy with support so far - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is awesome.

Pros
We basically don’t have to think about payroll. It’s just there and it just works. We log in once a month for a few minutes to confirm everything and that’s about it.
Cons
Nothing so far. We’ve had a few small issues in the beginning but Pento support and development has always been on top of it quickly.

None specifically it's very simple and used only once a month, would love an integration to investment apps.
