It is especially challenging for a new employee to stay up to date and retain all information related to product knowledge. Using Guru is very easy because you can quickly find any post or topic by simply searching for the relevant keyword.
Pros
Our internal support team's knowledge base is being organized with Guru's guidance. In addition to helping them with their workflow, it gives them the knowledge and confidence to trust the solutions they find.
Cons
When the dots are obscured by an arrow, making it difficult to see what you're looking for unless you click the corresponding drop-down arrow, which then reveals everything you were looking for, things get more complicated.

Cons
The search functionality is absolutely awful. Trying to find something on the spot is a real challenge (even with as little as 40 cards), and it really ruined the whole platform for my team.

I believe that Guru makes it much easier to roll out content when we need to be up to date. It is very intuitive and helps a lot in building a company/project's content library. It has some small flaws, but overall it does very well.
Pros
- Simplified navigation with the use of keywords, making it quite easy to find an article.
- Reading the updates when a Guru is updated and with the new or altered content highlighted, makes it much easier when we need to always be up to date.
Cons
I believe that the "My Library" session could be simplified. Every time we access it, instead of going to "Following" Gurus, it could directly open the folders that I created and saved my favorite Gurus.

We like Guru and feel a friendly and not too bulky onboarding process. But we want to have an easier way to access the human team and actually talk to a person from Guru and get direct advice on how to best use the tool.
Pros
It satisfies what me and my team is looking for: a smart way to access the information stored in a well-structured way. The UI & UX are smart, neat-looking and intuitive. Overall, the guidance videos are easy to follow.
Cons
My company has never accessed such similar tool, so we need a lot of initial introduction to the tool especially from the Guru team. Because we have a timezone gap, we find it challenging to arrange meetings with Guru customer service team. Despite lots of videos, we need an actual hands-on guidance for an easier usage of the tool.

Prior to Guru, it was challenging to organize and guarantee consistency in knowledge because most knowledge exchange was dependent on certain individuals. It's simpler now.
Pros

Before I first started using Guru, I was maintaining using a spreadsheet to maintain a video training for a quickly growing and quickly changing product in a company that needed it for onboarding constant stream of new joiners. Guru brought sunlight back into my life.
Pros
Guru is built to handle well knowledge that's growing in all directions, to very easily crossreference it, and to ensure the information is accurate and current. In 4 years of using it I never needed customer support and I rarely needed documentation. That's the best compliment I can give to their product team.
As a collection author, you get to place new bit of knowledge within a logical hierarchy. "Cards" not being "Pages", you're primed to separate new bits of knowledge into easily graspable chunks, thus making information easier on the user's working memory. The information can be well formatted. You can embed things into cards (say, iorad tutorials, Miro boards) and you can embed your Guru cards into other things (say, Rise 360. The latest version of the card will load for the user even if you export your .scorm file and upload it to your LMS and the user accesses it months later.). Linking other cards into your cards is easy. For each card, you're setting an owner (it can be an individual or a group of people), and the expiration date. When the card expires, the owner is notified to verify it. You can feed it to Intercom Knowledge Hub. You can notify everyone, or certain users, to read a specific card. You can leave comments in the card, tag users in them, resolve and unresolve them. You can see the card's edit and verification history. You can save drafts.
As a collection user, you install a browser extension (or you open collection in a browser tab but, honestly, why would you). When you open the extension, a search panel floats on your screen and you can find the card you're looking for and open it without ever having to leave your original tab. The search is good. You can see who owns the card, when was it created, is it verified. If it is but you have your doubts, you can request verification. You can comment on cards and tag users in tags.
A brilliant tool if you have a growing knowledge base, things change and you need to have a system that will allow you to know the information you're using is correct and up to date.
Cons
"A polite reminder that you have 1002 cards to verify" sounds a tad bit passive agressive. I thought we were friends.
Having infinite layers of depth of information would be perfection.

Pros
What I love most about Guru is that it keeps all our work resources in one place. I can easily favorite and follow the collections that matter to my department, so I stay updated on any changes. The Guru Library is user-friendly, and I've built up a great collection of resources I use daily. It's easy to use, has important features, and integrates well with other tools. I use it all day, every day, and I love it!
On top of that, their customer support is super fast and accurate. It's so easy to use and implement as well.
Cons
The only downside to Guru is that sometimes it's hard to find resources using keywords. This might be my mistake, so it could be user error. Remembering the exact names of the resources can be tricky. Other than that, I really love Guru!

Amazing for Internal Knowledge Base
Reviewed on 08/08/2024
Pros
I love how easy it is to create cards and store knowledge. I like the collections/folder structure and how you can set permissions at that level. We also use the Zendesk integration which is great because it's allowing us to have more sources of knowledge when our users search for answers. It's really easy to search and get an answer.
The verification process is easy to use and keep up with.
Some other things I like:
- You can have draft cards and collaborate on editing them.
- Comments! Love being able to leave comments on cards to communicate in the platform.
- When you publish a card update, you can summarize what changed.
- You can create cards in Slack.
Cons
I wish Guru could integrate with more sources easily. There are ways to upload sources and there are some native integrations. I like the native integrations because they continue to update and refresh from the source, but we only use one today because those options are limited.
I also would like to see more options in the card text editor, like for colors and highlighting. Maybe some themes even to keep everyone consistent.
I would like to be able to exclude some cards from verification. Right now, we just push the date out as far as possible.

Definitely a smooth experience. It reduces DRASTICALLY the need of escalating a problem, as any superior can simply write any possible outcomes for a specific situation on Guru. If you have a question, ask Guru!
Pros
Guru is a Google for companies. Everything we need to know about the products, workflow processes, and explanations about a specific company - you can just use Guru. This is so incredibly good to set expectations about how workes should do and behave, and it's also useful as a guide to always check when you're insecure about how to handle a specific workflow, or to be updated about what's going on in the company, any live changes, etc. The tool is complete, it's easy to get implemented in any company. To integrate it in your company is a must if you want to be successful and professional, as it's so easy.
Honestly, this is the tool that I use everyday and, even though some new adventurers might think it's not necessary to use it often, I have Guru open at all times - it's just perfect to be a master in your business knowledge, what will set you apart from everyone else.
Cons
Though it's intuitive, sometimes shared links can be counted as for private use, even though admin didn't set the Guru cards as private. Well, tech issues, nothing new in our Customer Support world.

Overall, my experience with Guru has been extremely positive. It has transformed how we manage and share knowledge within our team. The ability to centralize our documentation and easily collaborate on projects has boosted productivity and reduced redundancy. Despite a few initial setup challenges, Guru has become an indispensable tool that I would highly recommend to any team looking to streamline their knowledge management processes effectively.
Pros
What I liked most about Guru is its intuitive AI-powered search. It's incredibly efficient and accurate, making it a breeze to find relevant information across our extensive knowledge base. The AI-suggested knowledge feature has also been a pleasant surprise, consistently recommending useful content that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. Integration with tools like Slack has significantly enhanced our team's workflow, seamlessly bringing knowledge sharing into our daily conversations
Cons
One thing I liked least about Guru initially was the learning curve in setting up permissions and access controls. It took some time to fine-tune these settings to fit our team's specific needs. Additionally, while the interface is clean and functional, it could benefit from more customization options to tailor it further to our preferences.
