We have had a great experience with The Magazine Manager..and its always improving and offering us newer and better options to conduct our business.

Pros

Wonderful system that seamlessly pulls all aspects of a growing business in one complete package. From sales to creative to customer to billing-this system is pulls it all together. I especially appreciate the emphasis on inter-department communications options. I am amazed the ease of adding new product lines to the system. The phone app has been wonderful for the account reps as well.

Cons

I believe the integration of this system was fairly smooth. There was a bit of a learning curve on both sides but the exceptional customer service portion of Magman is second to none.

The Good, Bad & the Ugly

I find it much more difficult that my previous database to work with when it comes to cancelling converted proposals.

Pros

The positive using this software is it is easy to see Accounts payable send invoices if needed.

Cons

It is not user friendly.
I find this software very difficult and cumbersome to manipulate.

My overall experience with Magazine Manger has been great! I thought it would be a difficult transition coming from the Salesforce platform, but it was easy and the customer support is extremely helpful. Also, Magazine Manager is constantly updating and improving.

Pros

Easy to use and navigate basic functions for new users. Offers different reporting that is valuable to measure growth. Electronic Signature is another great feature for easy signing and the agreement is pulled right into client account.

Cons

It's not perfect.
There are a lot reporting options and sometimes it can be too many options. I'd like a feature that automatically pulls my numbers without having to choose so many filters.

The IT Team was a little hard to deal with.

Pros

The ease of use. It is very user friendly.

Cons

There's so many different way to pull reports. When you are new to the system it gets very over whelming.

I like it, my production team likes it, most of my sales staff likes it. The support and training are GREAT.

Pros

that it is easy to learn and easy for various members of our staff- sales, marketing, production, management, to interact with it.

Cons

It changes frequently and people have to get up to speed on how to file things. My sales staff says it's hard to generate mass emails from it, so one of them is using another email platform. Not sure I agree with this.

Overall, it was easy to start using, and I keep attending the training seminars which help me add more of it's features to use. I know I'm just scratching the surface, having only used MM for 5 months.

Pros

It gives one database management center, easy to schedule activities and differentiate type of activities; can rate level of prospects. Like the ability to write notes and am eager to use the new AI feature to summarize the notes from prospects & customers.

Cons

Reports can be complicated to set up. If I schedule an activity that changes, it's hard to adjust it. Have to clear out the inbox even when a task has been marked completed.

The team at Magazine Manager has been amazing, especially Susan! She has spent numerous hours with our team making sure we are understanding new features and new processes, utilizing Magazine Manager best for our needs and answering so many questions. I appreciate the team so much!

Pros

I like how so many aspects of a business can live in Magazine Manager. It makes it easier to streamline and track client activity across multiple departments. All of the new updates have only improved this.

Cons

There is so much that it can take a little while to learn everything but ultimately that is a good thing!

Very positive! the reports, sales reports, Prod Mod proposal templates and converting proposals to contracts. It saves so much time.

Pros

The ease with which it makes our job as marketers much easier with the new updates

Cons

There isn't really anything I don't like least about the Magazine Manager. It's just setting time aside to learn everything that it does for us.

Never worked on a database until I was introduced to Magazine Manager, ease of use A PLUS!

Pros

Ease of use, keeps me organized and efficient!

Cons

The only con is when magazine manager is down. In the three years I've used it, magazine manager was down two times. Both times it was back up and running rather quickly.

Powerful Publishing Software

Cons

There is nothing in particular that I dislike about Magazine Manager. The product software is constantly updated and improved. When I have needed a new report for some kind of analysis, the customer support team has assisted in a timely fashion.

Great system. Talked with others who struggle with their CRM and if there are issues, someone is always there to help you through it. Great IT support!

Pros

Ease of working in the system. Reports are readily available and easy to download. Invoicing and receivables are easy to complete and track in the system.

Cons

Initial set up of products was a bit confusing, but after you do a few it is pretty easy.

We are marketing our publication products to our CRM base, and are able to create automated workflows to save time. Not only for advertising, but also to manage our subscriptions. Marketing manger has been extremely effective. Their Customer service and training is also wonderful with a daily live chat feature too.

Pros

The customer service is the best I have experienced. Magazine has may features that allow you to operate your business all from within one system

Cons

Some features are missing, specifically on the production alerts. However, Magazine Manager is extremely responsive to feature requests, and my hope is that these features will be added in the future.

Magazine Manager is successfully used by our teams to manage several different publications. We have modified features to suit our needs and there are many we don't use. The support has always been fast and helpful.

Pros

The Digital Studio and Production Module are used daily by our team to track the status of each order in our system from entry to production. The module searches are easy to customize for items accessed regularly. Digital Studio allows for quick changes of placement when updates come through for the publicatiohn.

Cons

There's a bit of a delay in the list updates in Email Builder when pulling from our Magazine Manager contacts which prohibits same-day emails in an effort to be certain the lists are updated. The test email is also undependable as it may not come through for 24 hours or more.

Pros

It's fairly easy to understand the usability of the program with in reasonable timeframe. Things are easily organized to keep track of sales and the production process.

Cons

It often glitches, but your team is usually fairly quick to resolve. Changes I would like to see are:1. search function within the Production Module. instead of organizing by company, start date etc, be able to search right in that module for a specific company2.more customization in terms of the site and in particular regards to the proposal process. It would be great to attach a PDF to proposal emails or add pop ups etc (to ensure clients read contracts before signing). 3. search function often doesn't work - when a company is entered, nothing happens and the search results do not display4. The ability to move around tabs

It's easy to use and simple to learn, and is able to manage and track everything that I work with on a daily basis.

Cons

My only complaint is how the updates are rolled out. There is information about them the first time you log in after the update, but it would be nice to be made aware of them ahead of time.

Pros

Magazine Manager is very user friendly. When you think data is easily accessible, there is an update making your job even easier. Magazine Manager has quick training videos for when you can't remember where to find information as well as frequent training sessions that cover different categories depending on your role.

Cons

No complaints from me about Magazine Manager.
