My overall experience has been moderately satisfying catering to the role i perform, As a tester i have to test application n functionality on a broader perspective in order to be accurate with results .
With wide range of emulators present becomes easy for UI and view port testing for designs which need to fit into sizes which play a major role for media based companies.

Pros

I have been using Browserstack since the time i have started working.
In my tenure of work ex i have used Browserstack at a broader level ,
it has helped me cover multiple aspects of testing, cater to client requirement which were specific to certain devices . In absence of physical devices BS has provided with wide range of emulator to test efficiently and with accuracy.
I can do define the test coverage for platforms and devices irrespective in the presence of devices.

Cons

1. Slowness : at time the Bs becomes slow to in terms of fetching results
2. 1out of 5 times , While doing niche UI testing the accuracy level is not reliable as the behavior changes on physical devices
3. Cost effective as compared to other tools present in market

I am pleased with browserstack but think there are some improvements that can be made. When I reach out to my account manager about issues it takes a while for them to get back or they don't understand my issue. As well as not being happy about purchasing a tier for a product and then having those features taken away from me.

Pros

Accessibility to quickly jumpstart building a regression test suite from the ground up using low code automation.

The ease in which I can build and edit a test.

Test management is one of my favorite features, being able to store and look back on every manual test I have run is important in my industry as it is highly regulated.

Cons

I purchased the essentials tier for low code automation. The features available in that tier were then moved to the Pro tier once the product went live. I don't feel like that is the right thing to do to your loyal customers

Easy Access to multiple devices

Reviewed on 09/09/2024

Pros

I found BrowserStack incredibly beneficial due to its easy access to a wide range of devices for both Android and iOS platforms. As a developer, having seamless access to multiple devices directly from my browser significantly streamlines my testing process. This accessibility ensures that I can efficiently test and debug applications across various devices without the need for physical hardware, saving both time and resources. BrowserStack's intuitive interface and extensive device coverage make it an indispensable tool in my development toolkit.

Cons

One of the drawbacks I experienced with BrowserStack is the need to repeatedly log in to the app stores, particularly when a session expires. This can be somewhat inconvenient, especially during longer testing sessions where frequent logins interrupt the workflow. It would be more efficient if there was an option to maintain these credentials securely over multiple sessions or at least extend the session duration to reduce the number of logins required. Despite this, the overall benefits of the platform still outweigh this minor inconvenience.

Overall Experience is Excellent! We no need to worry about the real device which we don't have. I am so confident that we can rely on Browserstack!and there is no doubt on this.

Pros

1. We can able to enable the Developer tools to observe the failures in network calls.
For example: I am launching the web URL in Safari/Chrome Browser and for some reason, if it is getting failed means there I can able to enable the Developer tools and able to verify the failure calls.

2. We can able to do local testing by installing BrowserStackLocal.msi. There we can test our web applications in local also. I personally love this feature.

3. We can also do Accessibility testing. I have did this and it is working as expected.

4. We can able to do Selenium automation for browser validations. It gives confident to both QA and Dev about the application stability and also we can ensure that all functionalities are working fine as we do testing in REAL devices.

Cons

1. Sometimes we can slowness and rendering while we do testing.
2. I found some some difficulties in setting up the local setup while testing.

Overall, BrowserStack has been a great tool for QA at my current job and I have used it consistently over the last 5+ years. I can't imagine going back to not using it, now that it has become such an integral part of my day-to-day work.

Pros

I like how it is all web-based and quickly connects to additional devices/browsers in order to test applications and web pages. It's very nice being able to officially support devices and browsers that you normally wouldn't have easy access to obtain or test against.

Cons

Some of the paid products have steep pricing models. There are also times where devices will just get stuck on a loading screen and don't officially boot-up which can get a little annoying when you are just wanting to quickly test something.

Pros

The Test Runs are well done, organized and contains a lot of good data available to track the progress of the run.
