It is a good product for managing tasks and integrating with Drake software, but they raise the price to $800 for each user if you buy only one year. It has so many bugs that I cannot count them. You have a new one almost every week, and they do not fix it quickly.

It helps manage the tasks and has some integration with Drake software. It has support to at least listen to you.
Cons
OMG, it has too many bugs. I cannot count how many bugs we had in 2023. It is really difficult to rely on the software. It takes some time so they can fix the issue (if you are lucky, a week).

The best tax pro all-inclusive tool for 2024

Pros
It's made specifically for tax pros. All the features are thoughtfully designed around optimizing professional tax pro / accountant workflows. This is by far the best all-in-one accounting tool I have used. You can tell the team is putting in work on the tool with new monthly features being shipped every month. This is the opposite of Intuit. You guys are great. TaxDome saved us at least 200 hours of manual work the past tax season.
Cons
Minor things like not having a preset / prefilled client reminder occurrences and frequency.

Love the secure messaging, printing directly from my tax software to TD, client communication in one place and the automation gave me an "admin" that I desperately needed.
Cons
I wish SMS didn't need a separate phone number (but chat works great) and wish it could integrate with QB payments.

Pros
I like the features and customization that tax dome offers. I also like the website builder and custom url feature.
Cons
I don't like that the automated messages that tax dome sends. There is not much flexibility in the automated emails that are sent to clients. This really should allow for html.

Folder structure is cluttered, makes it very confusing between files shared by client vs. documents shared with client vs. private for any specific tax year. Need to go to three different directories to view files. Would be great if there is an ability to flat the structure by tax year so that I can see all files in a single directory for a specific tax year.
Would be helpful to preload new tax year folder in the beginning of the year. For example, I have to manually create 2024 folders for each client that I am doing 2024 work, such as estimated tax payments, sales tax or payroll tax.
Ability to backup all data from network drive to hard drive. For example, most recently there has been internet outage in my area for almost 24 hours and I was not able to be productive as access to network drive was severed.

As far as folder structure - you can set whatever you want it to be. It sounds like you’re referring to the default template, but you can customize your folder templates as much as you want - so if you want to create a folder template by years, you can certainly do that! Ability to request signatures directly from the uploading windows program.
Cons
Client access - if a client accesses a signature request link on a shared computer that is already logged on as a different client (spouses) unless they log out, the spouses' signature prompts will be used and they get confused as to why they can't sign.

What I like most about Tax is the CRM system and also the document management enable to give and store clients documents or they’re able to get instant access to their things without asking me for consistently

what I like least about Tax it’s not just user-friendly. You have to go to some trainings to figure out the automation or pay someone to do it so you’re not just gonna jump in and have it already set up as soon as you pay the cost so it’s an additional fee to have someone out automated but luckily, I found Carmen from Elite notary to for an affordable price

I find the overall service to better than most softwares. There is definitely a learning curve for new users, but there are lots of support options out there.
Pros
TaxDome incorporates many products into one platform, reducing the time and effort I would need to expend if I were using separat softwares. I use it for project management, file storage, client communication (email, secure chat, texting), for e-signatures, and as a CSM.
Cons
Fast growth seems to have put a strain on their systems. However, maybe I've only noticed it because they aim to be so involved with their clients.

Overall, TaxDome does just about everything I need to run my little business (other than bookkeeping). I look forward to figuring out how to use the functions that elude me, currently. In the meantime, being able to exchange documents, receive payment for invoices, and get client signatures remotely in one place is convenient.
Pros
• Client and firm document storage and sharing.
• Invoicing options that include one-time and recurring.
- Client can pay invoice by following an email link
- Integrated payment processing, including ACH for direct bank draw
Cons
• Very confusing to setup workflow, pipelines, tasks, and jobs
• Some features are not linked in places where it would make sense
- You cannot add an external/cash payment to invoice by viewing the invoice. The
link to do that is located somewhere else
• Did I mention that setting up pipelines and workflows, job tracking, tasks etc is very difficult and counter intuitive?

TaxDome was very time intensive to implement. Because it can be so customizable to your business needs, it takes a lot of work on the front end to develop and design your processes within TaxDome. But once we got through the initial setup and got to start using all the tools in our daily work, we loved it and couldn't work without it now! Their support team is always responsive and helpful, and they are constantly making improvements and adding new features to the software. Overall, we are very pleased we chose TaxDome and are excited to keep building our own company with it.

TaxDome has increased efficiencies in every area of our business. Now clients have a central hub to communicate and interact with our firm. Everyone on our team is always in the loop about what is going on. Information about clients is organized. Teams and team members have due dates and can be held accountable for projects. We now have standard operating procedures that can be followed by all. There are so many tools and features within TaxDome that make it easily customizable for your specific business needs.
Cons
There have been some tools that have more limited functionality than I was expecting. However, we've been using TaxDome for over a year and their team works hard to keep updating the software and provide improvements constantly. So some of the things that had more limited functionality when we started are now much more helpful thanks to the improvements that are always being made.

Thus far, TaxDome is a great product. I have only scratched the surface of all the features, but it is obviously a very thorough and well thought out product. It is easy for both office staff and clients (via the portal) to use. The TaxDome help and academy are a huge help with setting up and navigating the product. I have an IT background and have worked with and implemented many software applications. TaxDome is one of the best.
Pros
I think our favorite feature is the workflow / pipelines and automation. Those go hand-in-hand and really help us manage and prioritize projects. Also, having the ability for not only our staff, but clients via the portal, to see the status of a return is great.
Cons
The only thing I can think of is showing complete company / account info such as phone, email, address and any custom fields on the Client Info page would be helpful. Especially as we attempt to update current contact information.

Pros
I love the organization of all aspects of TaxDome. Great customer access and interaction. I also like the billing and invoicing features. They also make updates constantly.
Cons
Just minor changes for additional features that would be nice.

Love Tax Dome. The migration was very straight forward. We have been using tax dome for a year and happy we made the change.
Pros
I like how all the communication is within one area. It even pulls previous emails for clients prior to set up.
Cons
The emails confuse me because it shows as unread, when in fact they've been read. When we purchased it, we were under the premise that back and forth migration with Lacerte was automatic.
