It provides a powerful suite of features that streamline planning, scheduling, and analytics, which has allowed me to stay on top of content with ease. While the learning curve and cost may be considerations, especially for new users, the time saved and the value added make Hootsuite an excellent investment in my social media strategy.
Pros
The ability to streamline all my social media accounts into one easy-to-navigate dashboard is a game-changer. Scheduling content across multiple platforms saves hours each week, and Hootsuite’s analytics provide deep insights that help improve my strategy. It’s perfect for handling the social presence of a growing brand or small business, giving me all the tools I need in one place.
Cons
The pricing for premium features feels a bit steep, especially for small businesses or independent users who don’t need all the bells and whistles. The dashboard can also feel a bit crowded at times, which makes it challenging for new users to get comfortable. Finally, customer support could be more responsive, as it sometimes takes a while to get help when you need it.
Reasons for Switching to Hootsuite
I chose Hootsuite because of its comprehensive feature set, which combines scheduling, analytics, and social listening tools in one platform. While Buffer and Later are great for scheduling, they don’t offer the same level of analytics and multi-platform support. Sprout Social was also a consideration, but Hootsuite’s pricing and user-friendly interface suited my needs better.- Industry: Retail

Cons
The cost of the software. So much software out there offers the same platform with more features for less.

Hootsuite allowed us to schedule posts across multiple platforms, providing analytics and insights to track the post performance.
Cons
The cost was high, starting at $99 per month, that is why we changed to another service.

Pros
I'm able to manage our companies social media accounts. We don't get a lot of interaction but about once a month we post to the 3 platforms that we utilize. It's FB, Twitter and Instagram. I love that I can do the work once and have the post go to all 3 platforms.
Cons
Hootsuite used to have a free level and we used it for years. Now we are reevaluating what we are going to do because we're a small business and every dollar counts in this economy.

Pros
The ease of use is a massive plus for Hootsuite, both in analytics report generation (customized reports too!) and in multi-account management and scheduling. It's by far the most intuitive program I have used across this toolset.
Cons
The ease of batch re-scheduling a post across multiple platforms leaves a lot to be desired, but that is primarily the only pain point I have experienced with Hootsuite.

It is a great and efficient scheduler for my posts across various social media platforms. It has an interactive user-interface, which helps do the work efficiently. Using its intelligence, the software also informs me the right time to post my content to enhance the user-engagement. Customer support is also good and prompt. It also offers an in-depth post analytics, for proper insights.
Cons
The pricing, in my opinion, is on the higher side, as compared to what its competitors are offering. Its posting feature on Instagram needs to be improved, otherwise it is a great tool

I love so many things about Hootsuite. The analytics and reporting features have been awesome for monthly reporting. It makes creating reports super easy and pulls great data points that bosses love to see. It makes social media management much more...well... manageable!
Cons
I wish I could incorporate other socials into the tool like Linkedin and Threads, maybe I haven't branched out enough but I would like to see how those work!

Our hospital uses Hootsuite to manage every single one of our social media channels. We are constantly updating various channels for client education as well as regular updates on "What's New" in our hospital and Hootsuite has been the fastest way to keep up on a regular schedule.
Pros
Its an easy way to manage our entire hospital's social media channels and run it through the chain of command and it allows us extra time to work on additional projects! It integrates with every main social media outlet we use.
Cons
The only negative I have is the pricing.. its on the higher side for sure but I would say its worth the price since I am saving so much more time!

While I had it, Hootsuite was a great piece of software that allowed me to easily manage a much larger online presence than I ever could have without it. But their best features were locked behind a paywall, and their new pricing model has completely locked us out of ever doing business with them.
Pros
Hootsuite made it incredibly easy for a marketing team of one to manage a small army of sub-brands for our agency and maintain a constant online presence. Their analytics and scheduling recommendations allowed us to target our posts at the times that were most impactful for our demographic and our engagement went up as a result.
Cons
Hootsuite used to have a free tier, but now all of their tiers are eye-wateringly expensive and they have completely priced out our small business from ever using them.

Pros
The dashboard is fairly intuitive, you can manage platforms together -- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn at the same time, e.g. Being able to plan posts ahead is a fantastic feature and links up really well with the content calendar.
Cons
The free plan seems quite limited and the pricing structure seems irregular. I could also say that it took some time to get used to the interface, it can seem quite clunky to start with but I think it's still the most practical approach.

Hootsuite failed to offer reliable customer service. I had issues with billing and they repeatedly failed to remedy the flaws in their system.

I highly recommend it for any business or brand that wants to improve its presence on social networks. Although the free version has certain limitations, the functions it offers are very complete. It was worth investing in a premium subscription to unlock advanced capabilities

What I like least is that some more advanced features are only available in paid plans. For example, the number of social profiles I can add in the free version is limited. Access to historical data is also restricted

It's greatest value is being able to manage all your social media channels in one place easily and post across all channels seamlessly. The ability to schedule content in advance is such a great feature that helped us bring order to the chaos we used to have with social media.
Cons
Nothing major in particular. The only thing we had difficulty with sometimes is making Images used the right sizes for all the channels.
