I have been extremely satisfied with our implementation of Opendock for our company. There really isn't much more to say than I have already said, it has been a game changer for our department, almost as much as hiring more staff.

Pros

The ease of scheduling appointments for us and for outside carriers is perfect. I can even get some of my older, more computer illiterate customers to book with little issue. Being able to upload and save files for each appointment is great and had enabled my department to cut down on paper documents and waste less paper and toner, plus finding the documents is as easy as going back to the date or searching with a keyword.

Cons

The only con we have faced is with uploading documents. You have to upload everything at once and then you can't upload more without deleting what is there and reuploading everything. I was able to bring this up with Opendock and they said they plan to update this feature, so hopefully that will be coming in the near future.

Pros

It was easy to maneuver around in. Learning how to use it was easy as well.

Cons

You couldn't capture actually loading times. It only captured the time of arrival and departure.

Freedom of scheduling and it allows us know what trucks are inbound.

Cons

Nothing it suits us very well. we used a different scheduler in the past but this one works best for us.

The program has undergone some changes since becoming a customer. Those changes have been good for the end user.

Difficulty navigating to setting times for our docks. Trucking companies not seeing the available docks in OpenDock

Opendock has made scheduling and keeping track of trucking appointments easier. I like seeing how long a truck has been waiting and that the feature live updates for all users at the same time so there is no confusion on which trucks need to be completed and which ones are done. I do wish the cancelation feature would be updated - often we can accidentally cancel the wrong truck or a company will "cancel" then change their minds. It can clutter the board. Despite being able to take cancelled loads off of the screen, I still utilize this feature during shift change, and the appointments can look clogged with multiple accidental cancellations.

Pros

The "BOL created" and "preloaded" features.

Cons

Only two hour-long appointments can be created in an hour slot and you cannot un-cancel an appointment.

Pros

That I can see who schedules as well as schedule myself.

Cons

I was originally the Admin and then all of a sudden I can't make changes. The General Manager, who has absolutely nothing to do with the schedule or otherwise, is now the admin. Can't get it changed back. That is not a job under his title, that is mine. I can't make it effective for us to work with our schedule, so it's good, but more bad bcuz I can't help carriers or change the format of the schedule to what my facility needs.

Good--we were rough at the start due to switching companies, but the more that we use Opendock, we are getting a stronger understanding of what it can do.

Pros

I like the fact that we can have carriers schedule through Opendock instead of us having to do the schedule. With our past company, we would take emails and plot out the schedules ourselves but with Opendock, we don't really have to have that much interaction with the carriers--just instruct them where to schedule and what company to use on Opendock.

Cons

I don't like that we have to consolidate the schedule every time we want to keep vendors from scheduling too heavy during a day. For example, we have Coyote who tries to kill us with scheduling six trailers in one day. We have had to cut down the schedules/dock doors to try to limit the carrier from scheduling so heavy. I wish there was a way that a carrier was limited by Opendock to where they could only schedule 2 or 3 a day (set up in Opendock by us) to limit a carrier from trying to overkill us on trucks. There might be an option, but I have not really heard of a way to prevent this. This would save us some issues with our current situation.

Pros

looking up the appointments and then the easy click of a button that the shipment arrived. Also, the updates that you can leave for others to see about the appointment.

Cons

I like the program the only con would be too many appointments with the same PO scheduled not leaving room for other appointments that may be needed.

Pros

I love the ability for our carriers and vendors to self select open appointment times. Prior to subscribing, I had a person devoted to scheduling loads into facility. Great win and love being able to run reporting too.

Cons

Adding/removing docks, but it works smoothly now.

Scheduling in general. I've never had trucks scheduled before so as a supervisor being able to plan labor and be proactive is a huge win.

Cons

Honestly, it is not on opendock at all, but carriers scheduling in wrong time slots or under wrong docks is my only con using the application currently.
