Nintex Process Platform
Nintex Process Platform
About Nintex Process Platform
Nintex is a provider of digital solutions that replace and streamline traditional paper-based methods. With Nintex Workflow, business users up to enterprise level can fully automate workflow and content processes so that all employees and shareholders can connect, collaborate and work more efficiently. Nintex Workflow Cloud then takes those features and hosts the system within the cloud, centralizing access for multiple platforms and removing added deployment cost. Using clicks rather than any complex coding, business users and IT professionals alike can define complex workflows spanning multiple SaaS-based systems using drag and drop tools. The latest Workflow Cloud Designer features an intuitive design canvas, dropping in connectors for a growing selection of popular web services and applications.
In addition, the broader Nintex suite also covers Document Generation and Nintex Forms. The latter connects smart data inputs directly into workflows to make them easier to complete and faster to process. With Nintex Workflow handling the rules-based logic, Nintex Forms are themselves designed to accept content types, metadata, geolocation tagging, barcodes and photo attachments. What's more, each has been created to be viewed responsively across all platforms with alternative layouts optimized for iOS, Android, Windows and Windows Phone mobile apps. Nintex Hawkeye then enhances visibility into a process portfolio with the ability to drill down into filterable data with rich dashboard visualizations.

Processes your processes

It makes it easier for us to hold staff accountable when they don't follow a procedure properly, or say they didn't know how to do something in the first place. It also helps with handovers, as outgoing staff don't have to write novels on how to do their job, they can just mention 'we have a Promapp for that'.
Pros
I use it to log and version control processes. Anything from recruitment, to performance management, to procurement, to policy enforcement. We store all of the processes in Promapp so that anyone in the organisation can look up a 'how to' on just about anything.
Cons
The software does exactly what we need it to, store process maps :-)

Perfect program for standardising business processes
Reviewed on 27/01/2018
Pros
This software has been great for writing and standardising all of our processes, in ALL aspects of the business. So far Promapp has reduced onboarding time for new staff, given us a central depository for all our processes, and has given us a way to receive suggestions and feedback (in a productive way) to encourage process improvement. We used to keep everything in SharePoint in individual files that were stored in many different locations, all written in a different way. Promapp gives us more control as to who can write and edit processes.
Cons
A bit of a learning curve for process writers, but ultimately not an issue once you get used to it. It would also be nice to print dashboard screens.

so much more
Cons
some nice to have features not available
is not a dynamic workflow tool
does not display broken links
works best with only one purpose in mind (ie. document all staff processes)
Promapp is generally not used for the creation of:
Value Stream Transformation (VST) maps
Organisational charts
Network diagrams
System diagrams and mapping
Conceptual solution diagrams
Customer journey mapping
Lengthy end to end maps

DocGen for Salesforce by Nintex has saved us thousands!
Reviewed on 15/02/2018
Pros
DocGen is a huge timesaver. We have shaved hours off our daily workload by being able to automate our proposal system through salesforce.
Cons
The initial set up is difficult. It has a pretty steep learning curve unless you're a programmer/admin. Support is very responsive with any questions, however, so getting a resolution should be quick and easy.

Awesome Software tool for Automating Business Process Workflows within SharePoint OOTB

Easy to create Workflows than custom workflows.
Qualified User Interface.
Quick Business Process.
Pros
+ Easy to install and fast to learn and implement.
+ Easy to get a quick solution up and running!
+ Designing a working solution in a matter of minutes rather than weeks or months with custom coded solutions.
+ Simple drag and drop interface allows you to demo other end users on how to use it and enable other areas of the business to create their own workflows, thus engaging them throughout the process.
Cons
-> Troubleshooting a workflow is a cryptic process. Adding "Log history" is a good debugging approach, but if there was a way to "Preview" the workflow somehow it would be awesome!
-> Performance: If it is installed in On-premises version of SharePoint you might have no issues but if it is installed in online/O365 application performance is very slow and would definitely need improvements in performance aspect.
-> If we have an option to restart the workflow at any particular stage, it would be more helpful.
-> I don't think it will scale well for Big projects. Since it is so tightly integrated with SharePoint, we cannot move Nintex with solutions that have outgrown the recommended SharePoint list size.
-> Would be nice if we can increase/decrease the viewing area so that we can see more actions of the workflow.
-> I think adding more features like Reminders can help end users.
