> **Pros**: This software does an amazing job of backing up data, VMs, databases and deduplicating and compressing the data.  Storage requirements and needs are greatly reduced as a result.

> **Cons**: This software is really only meant for backups.  There is no option for DR automation, fast replication or easy restoration.

> **Pros**: El software es bastante sencillo, posee un agente no invasivo que te permite instalarlo en las máquinas sin tener que reiniciar. La recuperación también es fácil, puedes retaurar en la ruta original o en alguna alternativa. La comprensión y deduplicación es bastante buena.

> **Cons**: La aplicación de escritorio es un poco pesada. Tengo inconvenientes con las notificaciones por mail, muchas veces llegan correos innecesarios e indescifrables.

> Es una buena herramienta, cumple con las expectativas. Existen otras con funcionalidades avanzadas pero esta es sencilla y funcional.

> **Pros**: Backups usually worked once they were setup and going. Didn't frequency have any issues once it was setup. Compression and deduplication to a Data Domain was amazing.

> **Cons**: JAVA. Can't say it enough, the way to access the software (even with the newer HTML5) was terrible and unreliable. Spend more time troubleshooting actually logging into Avamar than I did fixing an issue. Checkpoints would fail and require you to restore back, needed to contact support often and it took a bit.

> Not horrible, it was a good product in it's time but it didn't age well.

> **Pros**: Avamar is intuitive and easy to use compared to other backup solutions I have used, and the Dell EMC support and account team are second to none.

> **Cons**: Because Avamar supports protecting such a large range of products, there can be a lot of features and plugins to learn.  That is not the fault of Avamar; it's just a robust product with a lot of options.  Overall, though, it is intuitive and not difficult.

> We use Avamar as a 'front-end' to back up our entire enterprise of over 10 petabytes.  Avamar is the 'brains' to manage the backups, and it sends the backups to Dell EMC Data Domain for storage.  Backups work reliably, recovery is very fast, and there are a wide range of plugins to meet your needs (image-based VM backups, Oracle \& MSSQL database plugins, support for many operating systems, vCenter plugins, etc).  Dell EMC support is the best, also.

> **Pros**: The integration for virtual environments is great, the compresion and deduplication helps you to save a lot space (its require a good assesment before), the possibility to backup end users microsfot and mac is an add-on of the solution.

> **Cons**: This is only a disk solution not compatible with LTO Tapes, the integration with public clouds providers helps in this case.
> 
> My overall experience is good in general of use, in backup and recovery scenarios the solution covers very good our necesities of a complete solution for backup and restore.
