I use Google Slides often for small group projects and used it every week during online distance learning. Students were able to work on projects together even though they were at home. I was able to work with the students at the same time that they were online so that I could give constant feedback.

Pros

I love that this product is online and that it can be used by several people at the same time. If you are doing a project and your team members are in other places, it is easy to work online with each other. You can comment, make changes and work as though you are side by side.

You can use Google Slides wherever you are - no problem if you forgot to email to it yourself; you don't have to. Wherever you login to your Gmail, you will have access to this product.

Cons

I would love if there were more themes uploaded with the program. However, you are able to go to several different websites and upload a theme that suits you. It's just not as convenient.

Really Simple and easy to use

Reviewed on 23/11/2023

Pros

It really simplifies the presentation process for an individual as well as for a team. Its seamless collaboration features, and the convenience of accessing and editing slides from any device make it an invaluable tool.

Cons

Feel like the design ideas are not as good as in Microsoft PowerPoint

Google Slides is good when making slides cooperatively with our colleagues

I only had to use Google Slides (Slides) when I had group project. Otherwise, I actually prefer Microsoft PowerPoint, or Prezi. I actually had so much experience, and fun, working with PPT and Prezi, and they are exceptional in helping me express my ideas in the most accurate way. Sometimes Slides is too simple that I can't use some features to express what I want. For example, the animation features is so limited that I can't make certain effects (fly out, fly in) on my phrases. In short, every feature that Slides has, PPT also has it, and more. The only feature that PPT doesn't have is the sharing and collaboration feature.

Pros

As per title, this site is super convenient when you make group project, that requires the cooperation and team work, where each person has chance to contribute, make changes to the overall project, and the changes will reflect immediately. I like the simple interface and friendly user interface. Especially for people didn't have any prior experience in making good slides before. It's also easy to share to other viewer, and easy to project on the screen. In short, to a beginner, this is an ideal software to use for the presentation.

Cons

The features are so much less compared to Microsoft powerpoint. The animation and effects features is way too simple. Sometimes, if you want to make your slides fancier by adding effects, it's just a pain in the butt and ends up consuming your time more than you could imagine.
When you download the slides on your computer, the format could get messed up sometimes. For example, the bullet points will change their shapes, or bullet points will show up when it's not supposed to be.
The font could also be changed, and PPT will warn you this. And if you're unlucky, it will mess up your whole entire slides and make it become hideous.
It's especially a challenge when creating the objects or drawing shapes on here. This also applies to other products powered by Google.

One of Google's Great Alternativesto Microsoft Products

I have used Google Slides on and off for years, since high school and college and more recently. While I have never been disappointed with the program, I always find myself reverting back to using Microsoft Powerpoint. Having said that, I still recommend Google Slides to anyone in need of an easy to use presentation editing software.

Pros

My favorite thing about Google Slides is the ease with which users can integrate other Google products with the program. Like all of Google's programs, features of slides can be incorporated with features from Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.

Cons

I still feel like Microsoft Powerpoint is the superior slide presentation software. The quality seen in Google Slides seems slightly subpar when compared to the veteran software that Microsoft is famous for.
